Solving Complex Problems informed by Osteopathic Philosophy

What We Do

Overview

We practice osteopathic therapy, a hands-on treatment of the bones and muscles that restores alignment, movement and balance to your body.

Our unique training helps us discover the interrelationships between your symptoms and the cause of your problem.

We seek to provide long-lasting improvement of your symptoms and increased overall health.

Many patients find this approach an effective alternative to traditional physical therapy, chiropractic or massage.

Our Approach

The body is an interconnected unit. One area can’t be looked at in isolation; it must be seen in relationship to the whole system. For example, you might have knee pain because of problems in the hip or ankle. Or your bloated stomach might be caused by a restricted rib.

We listen carefully to your symptoms, especially the ones doctors think are “crazy”.  We observe subtle ways you move, and form a picture of how the system of your body is causing those symptoms. This gives us a clear road map of treatment and helps us steer you toward health.

We rely on a detailed and working knowledge of the sciences of the human body: how your body develops from a single cell to the newborn (embryology); the parts of the body (anatomy); how the parts function and work (physiology); what happens when the parts stop working (pathology).

Results

In four to six visits, our treatments resolve or improve 90% of the problems we see. Often short-term, simple injuries resolve quickly. Longer term, more complex injuries and symptoms can take longer. People often find this approach helps even when chiropractic, physical therapy, or traditional massage therapy hasn’t.

Our treatment is not a cure-all. Significant structural or tissue changes from surgery, tissue degeneration or arthritis can limit what we can do. Also, for best results, patients need to change how they use and abuse their bodies.

What We Are Not

We are not physicians or doctors; we do not diagnosis, prescribe or claim to treat disease.

We are not osteopaths or osteopathic physicians.

We are not chiropractors and do not do “cracking” adjustments of the spine.

We are not physical therapists who prescribe exercises.

We are not relaxation massage therapists.

We are not Energy healers.

What Patients Say

"We meet my health goals constantly and I have continually set my hopes higher since we have worked together. At first it was just to “fix shoulder” but now is posture, optimized health, ever increasing flexibility and range of motion, etc."

"For me, even in really severe situations, it has only taken a few sessions to resolve the issue (many times solved in one session).  You have extremely high integrity and are a joy to know."

"The relief from pain is huge for me regarding quality of life.  I have been able work, to go on trips and participate in physical activities that I would not have been able to without your work. I can move more freely - and of course recently...I was able to walk again after being bedridden for 3 months.  I avoided surgery that now I am very happy to have avoided."

Not a substitute for medical care:

Although we are very effective at treating a wide range of complaints arising from the musculoskeletal system, we do not diagnosis, prescribe, provide thrust adjustments ("crack the spine") or practice medicine.
